Two youngsters from the White River School District received Student of the Month awards from the Buckley Kiwanis Club during the organization’s Nov. 20 meeting.
Comments for each student were provided by the Kiwanis Club.
Karmen Ward, fifth grade
Elk Ridge Elementary
“Karmen has a smile on her face every day. She is hard working, compassionate and always ready to help wherever she is needed. At school she helps plan assemblies, helps in the lunch room, and works with first graders during P.E. Outside of school she plays soccer and loves to ride her horse. Karmen exemplifies service to others as she always is ready to jump in and help with a positive attitude.”
Cole Holmes, fifth grade
Wilkeson Elementary
“Cole fills in for any need that occurs at school. Cole helps other students in math class, helped plan the Veteran’s Day assembly, and helped with the toy drive. Outside of school he is involved with Scouts. Cole is calm, a leader among the other students and has a sense of where he can be helpful without being told or asked.”
