EHS graduate on SPU roster

Seattle Pacific’s men’s basketball team will be featured at least three times on television this season including the Jan. 26 home game against Western Washington University.

Enumclaw High graduate Riley Carel is on the roster.

The Falcons start the season Nov. 2 at Eastern Washington University.

FSN Northwest will televise eight Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular-season games along with the men’s GNAC Tournament championship game March 4. The winner of that game qualifies for the NCAA Division II West Regionals.

The series will feature seven men’s games and one women’s game during the regular-season and will tip off with the Jan. 5 contest featuring the Montana State Billings’ men playing at the University of Alaska Anchorage.

The series will continue each Wednesday throughout the regular-season (except for one Tuesday game Jan. 11 when Western Oregon men visit Saint Martin’s).

Other men’s games will feature Simon Fraser at Northwest Nazarene on Jan. 19, Western Washington at Seattle Pacific on Jan. 26, Seattle Pacific at Central Washington on Feb. 9. Central Washington at Western Washington on Feb. 16 and Alaska Fairbanks at Alaska Anchorage on Feb. 23.

Hawks beat up on Wolverines

The Enumclaw Wolverine football teams had a tough day against the Federal Way Hawks.

The Pee Wees lost, but had a touchdown by Ethan McElderry.

The Midgets also fell to the Hawks. Fumbles were recovered by Andrew Northam and Tanner Summers. Two screen passes by Jordan Misensol to Austin Gregg went for 50-yard touchdowns. Andrew Northam ran in for the point after. There also was a handoff by Jordan Misensol to Austin Gregg who threw back to Misensol for a touchdown.

The 89ers also fell to the Hawks 19-0.

The Sweet Peas started the excitement in the first 15 seconds of the game when Alex Armstrong ran a 70-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. He soon after was injured and had to leave the game. Highlights included tackles by Josh Tomt and Ryan Redford. Deonte Bruner had numerous strong runs and a 25-yard touchdown. Chad Bulpin made the point after with a catch and run.

This week’s score against the Federal Way Hawks was 26-12. There was a touchdown pass to Brennen Lindberg, then three touchdown runs by Mitchell Lockhart and on the third TD Justin Peterson kicked the extra point.
