Dozens of residents joined members of the Bonney Lake Police Department, East Pierce Fire and Rescue, Mayor Neil Johnson and members of the city council for the annual National Night Out celebration Tuesday evening.
The night started at Ken Simmons park around Lake Bonney and then moved to Lake Debra Jane Park for a barbecue and old-fashioned neighborhood gathering with food, face-painting and fun.
Kids of all ages had the opportunity to check out police equipment, sit in a fire truck and even meet McGruff the Crime Dog.
This was the first year the Lake Deabra Jane park hosted a National Night Out celebration and all involved said it was a big success for the police and the park.
