State Senate Candidate Ron Weigelt, D-31st, is officially kicking off his campaign for the state Senate with a barbecue this weekend in Auburn.
The campaign barbecue is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Saturday at Sunset Park, 1306 69th St. S.E. in Auburn.
The event is billed as “a fun social hour with voters and their familes” and will feature a brief presentation from Weigelt.
Voters will also be able to pick up yard signs and t-shirts at the event.
Weigelt and fellow Democrat Raymund Bunk are running against Republicans Matt Richardson and incumbent Pam Roach in the district’s Aug. 17 primary.
The top two vote-getters will move on to the general election in November.
The public may obtain tickets to the event by contacting ron4senate@comcast.net or by calling 253-208-4063.
