With the upcoming Bonney Lake City Council election, it is timely to reflect back on recent events that seriously disrupted the conduct of city business and had the potential for totally eliminating our form of government.

I’m sure the good folks of Ward 5 have regretted selecting Dan Decker as their representative on the council, especially considering his antics and strange behavior after being seated, his contribution to the zoning fiasco at the lake and his being the primary promoter of the attempt to overthrow city government. I would not expect them to re-elect him.

Now it appears that Lynda Dabson is making another attempt to get onto the City Council. She was also a major supporter of the failed initiative, is of the same ilk as Decker, and is determined to buy her way onto the council by scattering signs all over the area. Mr. Decker is supporting her. Those who are most familiar with the workings of the city will tell you that those two still have an agenda for disruption or total elimination of city operations and it would be tragic for them both to be on the City Council.

We have a great city. It has great potential. And we are fortunate to have a mayor and majority of city council members who are working hard to make things even better for us, as residents and business owners. Please do all you can to inform yourselves before you vote. It’s vitally important.
