Bonney Lake
HIT AND RUN
• At 10:22 a.m. July 30, a 29-year-old female entered the police station to report a hit-and-run. The incident occurred in the parking lot at the Bonney Lake Post Office. The woman said she left her vehicle parked while she entered the post office and upon exiting the post office, she was contacted by a witness who told her he saw a vehicle strike her car. The witness said the driver got out of their vehicle to inspect the cars and then left the scene. The suspect is described as a male in his late 60s or early 70s. The witness provided the suspect’s license plate number and through a check with the Department of Licensing, the identity of the man was determined.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
• At 11:11 p.m. Aug.4, an officer in the parking lot at the Diamond Lounge observed an intoxicated female who was without shoes and was shouting at a group of people. The bouncer of the lounge told police the woman kicked him between his legs. The bouncer stated he tried to get her out of the bar, but she was extremely uncooperative. The 21-year-old female was placed into custody for disorderly conduct. Once inside the patrol car, she kicked the door and windows several times, after struggling with officers. She was transported to Pierce County Jail.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
• On Aug. 5, a 58-year-old woman arrived at the Bonney Lake Police station to report an unauthorized charge on her debit account. Shhe provided documentation showing a charge for $1,100 made to a retail store in San Jose, Calif. She was not in California and did not authorize anyone to make the charge.
ASSAULT
• At 10:02 p.m. July 31, police contacted a 32-year-old male involved in a domestic violence incident. He said he was assaulted by his 29-year-old live-in girlfriend the day before. She showed police some bruises she said she sustained during the altercation. Later, the 32-year-old man began receiving threatening calls from his girlfriend’s stepfather. Police advised he save any threatening messages and provide them to officers. Thhe feamale was provided with a domestic violence pamphlet and was told how to obtain a protection order.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY
• At 3:40 p.m. July 31, officers were dispatched to 10th Street on the report of an attempted burglary in progress. The homeonwer stated the suspect attempted to force entry through a window when the homeowner interrupted the suspect and the suspect fled.
MARIJUANA
• At 9:18 p.m. Aug. 1, a 25-year-old male was stopped for walking the wrong way on the highway. He was taken into custody for multiple warrants. A search revealed marijuana, methamphetamine and two prescription pills. The man was booked into Pierce County Jail for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Sumner
ACCIDENT
• At approximately 6:39 p.m. Aug. 2, officers responded to the scene of an accident at Traffic Avenue and Thompson Street. According to witnesses and those involved, a bus was headed east off of state Route 410, approaching Traffic Avenue. The bus had a green light. A pickup traveling south on Traffic Avenue ran the red light, struck the bus and the impact pushed both vehicles onto the intersection’s island with the bus hitting the signal light pole. The pickup driver said the sun was in his eyes and he couldn’t see the color of the light. He discovered it was red too late. There were no passengers and East Pierce Fire and Rescue transported both drivers to the hospital. There were no life-threatening injuries. The state Department of Transportation replaced the signal pole and the driver of the pickup received an infraction for failure to obey a traffic control device and having no proof of liability insurance.
PROWLER
• At 9:24 p.m. July 18, a resident in the 5200 block of Parker Road observed a male looking into the windows of his vehicle parked in the driveway. The resident confronted the male, who took off running. An area check for the suspicious person was unsuccessful.
DRINKING
• At 5:58 p.m. July 20, a citizen called to report that juveniles were drinking beer at the Daffodil Sports Complex. Officers arrived and contacted three subjects. One fled the scene, the other two were detained. One subject was arrested for being a minor in possession; the other was arrested for supplying liquor to minors.
FIGHT
• At 6:28 p.m. July 21, officers responded to the 1000 block of Wood Ave for a fight in progress. Upon arrival officers contacted both parties and determined that the fight was over a bicycle. One male was arrested for assault in the fourth degree.
MINOR IN POSSESSION
• At 1:52 a.m. July 21, officers contacted a male in the 1500 block of Everett Street. The male was associated with a vehicle that had been previously observed driving with a loud exhaust. Upon contacting the male officers discovered more than 325 cans/bottles of beer. The subject said that he had purchased the alcohol for a friend. He was arrested for minor in possession and for possession of drug paraphernalia. Later that morning officers received a call from a beverage warehouse in the 4800 block of East Valley Highway reporting a burglary. The warehouse was missing cases of beer from stacked pallets—the missing beer matched the beer recovered earlier in the morning. The male was interviewed by detectives and booked into the Pierce County Jail.
