Two people were injured, one fatally, in a single vehicle rollover crash at Evans Creek off-road vehicle park. Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue responded to the crash that occurred just before 8:33 p.m. Saturday.

”Two people were thrown from the SUV when it rolled,” said East Pierce Battalion Chief Rick Goetz.

Bystanders began CPR on the most severely injured patient before the firefighters arrived. That patient was pronounced dead at the scene by the firefighter-paramedics. The second patient was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The third occupant of the SUV was uninjured when it rolled.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Evans Creek ORV Park is located southeast of the town of Carbonado, off of State Route 165 in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest.
