THREATS: Police late in the evening of Oct. 31 took a report from a juvenile female who was being threatened by her brother, who had punched holes in the walls of their home. The female reported that her mother had left the residence with her brother to prevent him from going to jail. According to the reporting party, when she got home, her brother had been drinking and he began yelling at her and their mother and then started punching the walls and throwing things around the house. As she was calling 911, the brother came at her again and then chased her outside and said he was going to kill her, at which point the mother left with the brother. The sister told police she felt threatened and even had her grandparents remove her child from the house. Police advised her to leave the residence. The brother was found at a church in Sumner and was involuntarily committed and had a broken hand and once again said he was going to kill his sister. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor for potential charges of harassment and threats to kill.
DRUGS: Police on Nov. 6 were dispatched to the Forrest View Apartment complex for a report of a suspicious vehicle. When police arrived they observed a large cloud of smoke in the vehicle and smelled burnt marijuana. Police contacted the people in the car and asked why they would sit in a busy parking lot and smoke pot with people all around and the suspects admitted it was “stupid.” Police removed glass pipes and two pill bottles full of marijuana. The driver was cited and released for possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. A juvenile passenger was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. The case was forwarded to Remann hall.
SHOPLIFTING: An officer conducting a traffic stop in the 20200 block of 97th Avenue East on Nov. 9 contacted another officer because a passenger exited the vehicle and left the scene in a suspicious manner. As the officer approached the scene he saw in a backyard a female matching the description on state Route 410. The suspect had shed a large black coat she was wearing in the car and after the officer activated his lights and called out to her, she approached the back door of a house, tried the door and then continued to a neighbor’s house. Police watched the suspect continue through backyards, climbing fences as she went. The officer at the traffic stop reported he had probable cause to arrest the woman and the officer on the scene stopped the female. When asked why she did not originally, she said she had an outstanding warrant. She told police she left he coat in one of the yards because she had a pellet gun in her purse. POlice located the purse, which contained the gun, a glass pipe containing methamphetermine residue and several products from Rite Sid that still had security tags on them. Police confirmed with Rite Aid the female had been in the store and took off running when the security beeper sounded as she tried to leave. The driver of the car knew nothing of the shoplifting. The suspect was charged with theft.
COUNTERFEIT: Police on Nov. 10 were dispatched to the Bonney Lake Rite Aid for a report of a customer trying to pass a counterfeit $20 bill. Police contacted the customer who said she had no idea that the bill was fake. She said she had gotten the money from her bank along with non-counterfeit bills. The money was placed into the evidence room and the woman, who was cooperative with the police, was released. Police are investigating.
FRAUD: Police on Nov. 10 took a report in the lobby of the Public Safety Building from a person who was notified by his bank of a fraudulent transaction involving his debit card. The money was used to pay for an adult website, which the victim did not authorize. Police are investigating.
SHOPLIFTING: Police on Nov. 10 were dispatched to Safeway for a report of a shoplifter in custody. The shoplifter was observed concealing two energy drinks and a can of peanuts and attempting to leave the store without paying for them. The suspect told police he wanted the items, but did not have enough money to pay for everything so he attempted to steal some of them. He was trespassed from all Safeway stores and was cited for theft and released.
WARRANT STOP: Police on patrol in the 10000 block of 214th Avenue East ran the plate of a vehicle and discovered the driver’s license was suspended and that she had a felony warrant for escape from community custody. She was transported to Enumclaw Jail where she was booked on her warrant and cited for Driving with license suspended.
HIT AND RUN: Police on Nov. 12 were contacted by the victim of a hit and run accident on Myers Road. The victim reported seeing a vehicle approaching from behind at a high rate of speed and then flashing its headlights. The driver pulled to the side to let the vehicle pass but it did not. The driver pulled back on to the road and the suspect vehicle followed, flashing its lights again. At the intersection of 81st Street East, the suspect vehicle again followed the victim through a turn, at which point the driver pulled to the shoulder as the suspect vehicle accelerated and struck the victim’s vehicle on the left rear corner. The suspect vehicle then drove off as the victim attempted to contact the driver. Police have a description of the vehicle and are investigating.
THEFT OF PLATE: Police on Nov. 14 were contacted in the lobby of the Public Safety Building regarding the theft of a license plate from his vehicle, which was parked at the Tall Firs Theater. Police are investigating.
