Road repair and improvement projects | Bonney Lake

Three major road repair and improvement projects will occur in 2015 on state Route 410 inside Bonney Lake. Two of the three projects are starting now and the third project will start in the June timeframe. All lane closures will occur only at night between 7 PM and 5 AM.
City Project: SR410 Pedestrian Improvement
1. Scope of Work: Build new sidewalk on north side of SR410 from 192nd Ave (Target/Walmart), over the Angeline Road Bridge, and up the hill to match the existing sidewalk.
2. Construction Elements:
A. Remove and replace north side of bridge
B. Replace sewer pipe
C. Install new sidewalk
D. Reinforce earth embankment
E. Install new street light bases
F. Overlay work area
G. Temporarily move traffic lanes in both the Eastbound and Westbound lanes over the bridge.
3. Construction Cost = $1.8 million
4. Funding Sources: WSDOT Grant, City Sewer System Development Charge revenue, and City Traffic Impact Fee revenue
5. Start of work: 9 February 2014
City Project: SR410 & Veterans Memorial Drive Intersection Improvement
1. Scope of Work: Add additional turning lanes on both SR410 and Veterans Memorial Drive.
2. Construction Elements:
A. Add second left turn lane on SR410 in east bound direction onto Veterans Memorial Drive
B. Complete right turn lane on SR410 in west bound direction onto Veterans Memorial Drive
C. Complete second right turn lane on Veterans Memorial Drive onto west bound SR410
D. Install new traffic signals that are synchronized with the Main Street traffic signal
E. Move above ground wires underground
F. Add a landscaped median on SR410 between Veterans Memorial Drive and Main Street
G. Build new sidewalks
H. Install four large retaining walls
I. Move PSE tower on AM-PM gas station corner
J. Remove Dairy Queen sign on the pole
3. Construction Cost = $4.7-$5.5 million
4. Funding Sources: Tehaleh Mitigation fees, State grant, City Traffic Impact Fee revenue
5. Start of Work:
A. PSE tower relocation: 17 March
B. Road construction: June 2015
WSDOT Project; Overlay SR410 from Myers Road to 214th Avenue
1. Scope of Work: Remove and replace asphalt in each of the four lanes. Rebuild sidewalk ramps to bring into compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act.
2. Construction Elements:
A. Grind off pavement from the center of each lane
B. Place new asphalt pavement where grinding occurred
C. Remove and replace concrete sidewalk ramps
3. Start of Work: To be determined; approximately June 2015
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to follow the signs and other directions given by construction crew members. More detailed information will be placed on the City website and the various social media that the City uses.
As you can see, a lot of improvements will be made along the SR410 corridor this summer. The appearance will be remarkably improved throughout the SR410 corridor. Most importantly, motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians will have a much safer environment to travel in.
