Man killed in rollover accident

One man died following a single vehicle crash around 4 p.m. Friday at the 27600 block of Sumner-Buckley Highway, East Pierce Fire and Rescue reported.

The deceased was identified as Michael Tillett, 50, a resident of Buckley, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Monday.

Tillett was driving a white Jeep Wrangler when he lost control and left the road, rolling the vehicle before landing in field.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by East Pierce crews.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s investigated the crash that closed the road for several hours.
