Dorothy Ann Nixon died May 26, 2011, in Puyallup. She was 51.
She was born Jan. 27, 1960, in Greenport, Long Island, N.Y. She was a nine-year survivor of breast cancer who will be remembered for putting others first.
Survivors include life partner Michael Kurlee of Buckley; sons Kyle Beazley of Federal Way and Adam Nixon of Seattle; daughter Stephanie Hamm of Paris, Tenn.; sisters Ronnie Sterns and husband Ryan of Spokane, Wash., and Carolyn Sears and husband Joseph of Buckley; brother James Ogar and wife Mylan of Renton, Wash.; father James Ogar and wife Ann of Algona, Wash.; mother Norma Ogar of Spokane; and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Puget Sound Affiliate of Susan G. Komen Foundation, 112 5th Ave. N. Seattle, 98109.
A celebration of life will be planned at the family home at a later date.
