Sheryl Swanbeck

Sheryl Ann Swanbeck passed away on December 27th, 2019.

Sheryl Ann Swanbeck passed away peacefully on December 27th, 2019 with her family by her side at the age of 93. She was born the 2nd of three children on April 29, 1926 to Arthur and Clara Ruthenbeck in Warrenton, MO while the family was visiting from their home in Kimbrea, MN. They moved to Tracy, MN after her father bought the International Harvester Implement dealership there. Sheryl graduated from Tracy High School in 1942 and went to St. Olaf College.

Later she and her sister Pat, went to Seattle to work for Boeing on the war effort. After returning to Tracy she met her future husband David Swanbeck while taking flying lessons at the local airport. They were married in 1947 and had 4 children. They moved the family to Enumclaw in 1964 where they spent their remaining years. Sheryl was active at Trinity Lutheran Church, Enumclaw Orthopedic Guild, Enumclaw Hospital Foundation, Enumclaw Ladies Golf Club, and Meridian Valley Country Club. She and David loved to travel and after his retirement they became snowbirds to Sun City West, AZ for the past 30 years. Sheryl was a loving, caring, giving, daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and lived her life with integrity, elegance and grace. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Sheryl is survived by children Susan Swanbeck of Cusick, WA, Peggy (Erv) Kuntz of Andover, MN, Patsy (Gene) Parkhurst of Enumclaw, WA, and Art (Danae) Swanbeck of Bonney Lake, WA; brother Dick (Joyce) Ruthenbeck of AZ; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband David in 2016; sister Pat Norton; and grandson Scotty Fisher in 2019.
