Support Enumclaw School District’s tech levy

Having access to technology greatly improves my education.

As the ASB president of Enumclaw High School, I am extremely dedicated to the students of my school and believe in the importance of advancing our educational horizons at a reasonable rate. I feel it is important that everyone understands the importance of the technological advances that have reached our district and the impact they have on students in our schools.

First and foremost, the thousands of Chromebooks that have been loaned out to many students throughout the district have revolutionized the school and home experience for many students. The “google-ization” of our school district has streamlined our district in two huge ways: an impressive functionality for teachers and students and a simple line of communication between all district members at all times. Through the use of the Google products such as “Google Classroom” and “Google Documents,” assignments and homework have been revolutionized into the future of technology – today! Technology has made making up work from absences extremely easy, with access to the internet as well as what the class did in the time the student was gone in real time. With each district member owning a district email and many with district-owned computers, there has been a massive and widespread increase in accessibility within our schools that has made the lives of many students easier from group projects and receiving help from teachers or other students to even the amazing opportunity to have access to a home laptop that a student or their family may not have been able to afford before.

Nearly every single student in the district would argue that the increased technological involvement of our district has made their education easier, far less stressful, and far more enjoyable; and they’d likely wish for the advancements to keep coming and go even further.

Enumclaw is a school on the rise, especially with our advancements in technology. We are ranked within the top schools in the state and we have a relatively low tax rate in Enumclaw from the school district compared to surrounding districts. With the continued support of the community through their fiscal contributions, we can continue to grow as students and enhance our educational experience even further.

As a student body, we ask that the people of Enumclaw please vote to continue the amazing advancements in technology and vote in favor of the future of Enumclaw’s children and their education. Please vote in favor of the Replacement Instructional Technology Levy on behalf of myself, your children, and all the children of the Enumclaw community.
