Respect other opinions, don’t take down flags

Our community must respect other people’s opinions, even if we don’t like them.

Last night, Wednesday, October 7, I hung a “Republicans for Biden” flag at the end of our driveway. It didn’t last twelve hours. Someone tore it down.

This doesn’t anger me as much as it hurts me. Someone thought that it wasn’t necessary to respect my opinion. While this someone demands the right to share their beliefs, that same curtesy was not extended to me. There are many Trump signs scattered around Enumclaw. I haven’t touched them or defaced them which would be illegal.

This someone, however, doesn’t feel the necessity to extend the same respect to me and others. I’m saddened that members of this community do not believe we can civilly disagree. They believe only their opinion matters.
