Virginia Adolyn Nix (Ginny), 78, of Buckley, WA, passed away on January 9, 2024, at Swedish Hospital in Issaquah, WA.
Born on September 26, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Virginia Adolyn Anthony and John Franklin Anthony.
Ginny took pride in her 35-year career as a CNC Machinist and a 50-year Union Member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) district 751 in Boeing’s Commercial Airplane Emergent Manufacturing (EMF). Her pride in excellence was measured in tolerances of 10,000th of an inch earning her ‘Employee of the Year’ in her division.
A devoted horsewoman, she dedicated much of her time crisscrossing the trails of the Enumclaw, WA foothills alongside cherished lifelong friends. Her passion for the trails evolved into competitive trail riding, where her beloved mare “Quick Straw” achieved Competitive Trail Riding AQHA Washington State Horse of the Year in 1985.
In later years, Ginny applied her precision skills to sewing quilts for family, friends, “critters , and cancer patients, having triumphed over breast cancer herself. Her quilts, including a second-place winner at the Washington State Fair, showcased her love for craftsmanship.
Ginny is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Koler and Cynthia Finley, her sister Susan Lyon, and brother John Anthony. She is preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Adolyn Anthony and John Franklin Anthony, brother Michael Anthony, and grand- daughter Sabrina Koler.
