Hildegard (née Walter) Stachelscheid, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026 at the age of 94.
Born on July 27, 1931 in East Prussia (Germany), she immigrated to the USA at age 20 and settled in Michigan, where she later met her husband, Walter. They had two daughters, then relocated to California, and later to Buckley, Washington in 1969. They loved Buckley and the surrounding area, the small town feel and the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
Hildegard lived a long and meaningful life devoted to family. She overcame many early hardships with strength and resilience, and will be remembered for her kindness and gentle demeanor. She found joy in simple things: time with family, gardening, and baking toname a few.
In passing, she was reunited with her husband, Walter. She leaves behind two daughters, Hilda and Linda,four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.A private service will be held by the family.
