A Party Intervention Patrol on April 6 coordinated by the Tacoma Pierce County DUI and Traffic Safety Task Force resulted in the arrest of 24 youth, ages 18-21, for minor in possession.
Superintendent Craig Spencer announced Wednesday Andrea Landes will serve as Principal at Emerald Hills Elementary School in the coming school year.

The City of Bonney Lake is doing well. With a retail market of over $300 million, our local economy is showing positive signs. Building permit valuation is increasing (projected to be the highest it has been since 2007), and sales tax collections for January were 27 percent higher than they were in January of 2012. While we still face significant budget challenges, we are in a great position relative to other Pierce County cities and the state of Washington.
The Milroy Bridge over the Puyallup River at 66th Avenue East and River Road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on April 17 to allow crews to perform a detailed structural inspection and general maintenance. Motorists should use an alternative route during the closure.
Independent and concurrent investigations by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Tacoma Police Department regarding the shooting death of 35-year-old Michael David Crawford have been completed. Crawford died from multiple gunshot wounds inflicted by Lakewood Police Officers Ryan Moody and Jon Waller.
Thursday, Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist charged James Jamal Robinson, 19, Darion Anthony Tilley, 20, and Javohn Lee Smith, 17, with three counts of robbery in the first degree, and one count of attempted robbery in the first degree for allegedly robbing multiple Tacoma businesses earlier this week.
All suspects in the police blotter are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
