Enumclaw High’s boys basketball squad put itself in a promising position to claim the South Puget Sound League 3A hoop crown and exacted a bit of revenge in the process, as it gutted out a 59-55 overtime victory against Clover Park in Chuck Smith Gymnasium Friday.
The injury-plagued Sumner High School wrestling squad limped through two more South Puget Sound League 3A dual match losses last week to take up permanent residence in the SPSL 3A cellar with a 0-7 record.

Those who were looking for an instant cure for their insomnia by attending the Hornet-Hornet boys hoop battle in the White River gym Friday night were sorely disappointed. An easy victory by the favored Enumclaw High crew never came to pass, as the Pierce County hoopsters shot well and kept within striking distance, trailing by only a single point (48-47) after three quarters of play.
The news coming out of the Bonney Lake wrestling camp went from bad to good.
