Those who enjoy the Foothills Trail – whether out on a serious run or simply strolling with the family pooch – apparently have reason to celebrate.
SHOTS FIRED: City police were asked April 23 to watch for a suspect who had fired two shots in the air at a location on state Route 164 near the Muckleshoot Reservation. No one was hurt during the incident and a victim declined to pursue charges. The suspect’s Chevrolet Suburban was not located.
SEVERAL CHARGES: Police stopped a vehicle for speeding at 1:16 a.m April 23 on state Route 410 at Lower Cemetery Road. The driver was found to be impaired and operating the vehicle with a suspended license. He also had been ordered to have an ignition interlock device in his car, which was not present. The driver was booked into jail and his vehicle was impounded.

Final scores were mighty tight, but both the White River High boys and girls managed victories over Fife during Thursday afternoon track and field competition.
UNDER THE INFLUENCE: At 1:29 a.m. April 15, an officer stopped a driver for erratic lane travel and following too closely behind another vehicle. The driver was found to have red eyes and slow speech. After performing some tests, he was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A city officer responded to the Enumclaw police station shortly after midnight April 10 where a King County deputy had a man wanted on a Buckley arrest warrant. The officer took custody of the man, who was booked into the Enumclaw jail.
Maria Blad captured four events Thursday afternoon, leading the Enumclaw High School girls to a 77-73 victory at Auburn Riverside.
While adding a significant collection to their inventory of Plateau memorabilia, volunteers at the Enumclaw History Museum decided to keep their doors locked for six weeks.
The fastpitch diamond apparently is a Plateau girl’s best friend. The ladies that make up the varsity squads from Enumclaw and White River high schools have had some eye-popping success this spring, outscoring their opponents 128-23 through games of last weekend.
NARCOTICS THEFT: Police took a report March 27 concerning an alleged theft of narcotics from a Jensen Street facility. Information was given regarding a possible suspect. A “trespass letter” was to be served the next time the suspect visits the facility.
Suspects in the police blotter are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
CLIENT VS. STAFF: Officers were dispatched the evening of March 26 to Rainier School following a report of an assault. It was determined that a 24-year-old client had assaulted a 26-year-old male staff member who possibly was injured as a result. The staff member was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The case is under review.
