Money was taken but no one was hurt Tuesday evening when a lone gunman robbed the Stop N Shop convenience store.

DOG MUST GO: A McKinley Street resident called police Dec. 11, concerned that a new neighbor might have a pit bull at the residence. After the neighbor confirmed she had such a dog, she was told of the city prohibition of the breed and given a copy of the ordinance. She was given one week to find a new home for the dog.
DOMESTIC: Police responded at 7:30 p.m. Dec 9 to a Grand Fir Drive residence and a report of a domestic dispute involving an intoxicated man who was refusing to leave. He departed shortly before police arrived and could not be located. The woman involved in the dispute was advised to call police again should the man return. A second call came less than an hour later, with the victim stating the man had assaulted her and left the house on foot. He was found nearby and taken into custody for fourth-degree assault.

Becoming the state’s No. 1 target didn’t seem to rattle the White River High girls basketball team.
NOT ALLOWED: The city attorney was advised Dec. 8 of “sandwich board” signs posted in the city. The owner of the signs had previously been advised of an ordinance prohibiting such signage. An officer responded with the city attorney to retrieve the signs and again advise the owner of the ordinances. The owner agreed to adhere to the city ordinance.

SHOPLIFTING: Police were called at 12:40 a.m. to a Roosevelt Avenue location where a shoplifting incident had just occurred. Police contacted the suspects and the stolen merchandise was returned. The business declined to prosecute, but the suspects were ordered to stay away from the establishment.
THEFT: A burglary report was issued the morning of Dec. 2 by staff at a Roosevelt Avenue business. A cash register was damaged and unidentified items were stolen.
A swarm of Enumclaw High Hornets found themselves on the all-conference list after South Puget Sound League 3A coaches did their voting.
The council is expected to adopt a budget for the coming year during its Dec. 10 meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m. in council chambers of Enumclaw City Hall, 1313 Griffin Ave.
Success is nothing new to the Enumclaw High wrestling program, which kicked off the 2012 season in fine style by winning the White River Classic.
