The National Weather Service said there is a 1 in 3 chance that the storm's low pressure center will directly cross some part of western Washington, resulting in a historical windstorm for nearly all of western Washington that would be long remembered.

Spartan tennis remains undefeated in new league

The Sumner boys tennis team has a lot to live up to this year, having topped the SPSL 3A league charts last year. But being in the new 4A league doesn't seem to be slowing them down, as the Spartans are toting an undefeated 8-0 league record after two victories over Puyallup and Curtis high schools.

Panther boys golf continue undefeated; mixed bag of results for girls, Spartans

The boy's most recent victories were against Mt. Tahoma 55-6 and Wilson 46-40. During the Sept. 20 match against Mount Tahoma, Michel Korum led the pack, shooting a 40 at the course. Tied behind him were Trevor Castor and Rayce Spoor with a stroke count of 43, and Kyle Jung and Eric Hughes at 46.

The Bonney Lake City Council has reversed its position on an impact fee deferral program for single family home developers. The program was defeated in a 4-2 vote during the Aug. 23 council meeting after Councilman Dan Swatman argued that the program, mandated by the state, was unconstitutional under the state constitution.
