The latest Consumer Price Index news release for the greater Seattle area is now available from BLS at http://www.bls.gov/regions/west/news-release/consumerpriceindex_seattle.htm.
Items of note include:
- Prices in the Seattle area rose 0.3 percent for the two months ending October 2014, while up 2.1percent over the past 12 months
- Local energy prices fell 7.6 percent over the past 2 months, primarily due to lower prices for gasoline (-11.2percent)
- The all items less food and energy index rose 0.8percent over the past 2 months, while up 2.2percent over the past year
- Nationally, prices increased 1.7percent over the last 12 months
