A Chinook Little League all-star squad hosted a South Hill team in a best-of-three series, with the winner guaranteed a berth in the upcoming state Little League tournament. The series opener was played June 13 at the historic diamond at the Enumclaw Expo Center and resulted in a 15-10 victory for the Chinook squad. A second game was planned for Friday and a third contest, if necessary, was scheduled for Tuesday. Due to early deadlines, only the Thursday game could be reported. In these Thursday photos, Chinook’s CJ Anderson dives safely back to first base, beating a pickoff attempt; Sawyer O’Grady puts a ball in play; and starting pitcher Beckham Toone delivers a first-inning pitch.
