Fools leading fools down a road of destruction

Stop listening to the likes of Herschel Walker and Lauren Boebert .

While I applaud John Locatelli’s learned attempts at educating all of us on climate change, why it’s real, why it’s happening and why we human beings have played a big part in it (“You already know so much about climate change”, published Sept. 28), his well intentioned efforts, I’m afraid, will fall on deaf ears to the people who need it the most.

Those people have already made up their minds that this is just another liberal scam to take more of their taxes and use them for God-knows-what.

You see, it is already crystal clear to anyone paying attention to reason and logic that this has been happening for a long time, but there is a saying that has been getting more and more use, especially since the unfounded hero worship of our former president has become nearly religious in it’s fervor. That saying goes like this: “You can’t use reason and logic to change ones mind who didn’t use reason and logic to form those opinions to begin with.”

Unfortunately there is a large contingent of humanity that can be convinced that something is real without any evidence to support the claims made by the charlatans who want to use them and control them. I think it was P. T. Barnum who phrased it best when he supposedly said, “There is a sucker born every minute.” People who are easily fooled, unfortunately, are easily lead by fools, what is going on in our country right now is a prime example, people putting into office the likes of Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor Greene and quite possibly Herschel Walker, who can barely walk down the street and chew gum at the same time.

While these are mostly uneducated parts of our society, there are also many well educated people who seem to want us to be lead by autocrats rather than democracy; why this seems to be the case is still unclear to me. We can only hope the voters of our country will come to this realization sooner rather than later.
