On Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. the King County Landmarks Commission will hold their meeting at our restaurant. We will be presenting them with all the wonderful history that our place encompasses. They look forward to meeting with anyone who has questions about their work.

If you want to see us be successful in being designated a treasured site, please come to the meeting and voice your opinion. If we are designated as a landmark, it will really help us to keep our wonderful old place going. It will also put us on maps of our area and help bring in tourists to our wonderful part of the state.

Many of you have told me of your connection to the place. Please write down any memories you have of it and bring them to me whenever possible. I am gathering up all the historical data I can find.

If any of you know some of the older people in this community, encourage them to tell you their stories of this wonderful old place. And if you are one of those senior citizens who has memories of the place, please come out to the Krain and share them with us.

As many of you know The Krain Corner Inn has been going through some tough economic times on the Plateau. Like many of you, we are doing everything possible to keep going.

We do not want to become another independent restaurant casualty.

To forestall this we have been working very hard to be recognized as the unique historical icon we are.

We look forward to hearing from anyone who wants to help keep The Krain Corner Inn alive and well for the next century.
