Letter to the Editor: Don’t vote ‘woke’ in school district race

Reader Inez Petersen talks about equity and how it discriminates.

Reference Page 38 of the recently received voters’ pamphlet, please don’t vote “woke.”

And how can you tell if you are voting “woke”? When a school board candidate uses the word equity instead of equality.

Equity is a code word for discrimination based on race or being a member of a community allegedly being oppressed by the white community. The recent U.S. Supreme Court cases of SFFA v. Harvard/UNC struck down one facet of “woke” practices based on equity.

If equity doesn’t work at the highest level in the land, it shouldn’t work in our local school board either.
