Would you allow your loved ones to board an airplane if you knew Trump was the pilot? No? Why not?
I am writing to amplify, supplement and support my argument from last week’s letter to the editor. (“Everyone should see these last 100 days were a disaster,” published April 30).
Did you happen to watch ABC’s Terry Moran’s 100-Day White House interview with Trump? It was alternately scary, cringeworthy and wet-your-pants funny only because Trump continues to be generous with his ignorance. Moran asked Trump “What does the Declaration of Independence mean to you?”
Typical Trump: he stumbled, gaffed and mumbled answering “unity…love..respect…means a lot…and special (one of Trump’s favorite low IQ words).” Trump couldn’t even recite the preamble of this consequential document. Who hangs signs or wears t-shirts with messages that they don’t understand or comprehend? The president of the United States.
Trump is notorious for answering reporters’ questions by saying, “We’ll look into it” and “We’ll take a look at it.” Trump answers this way when he has no knowledge of the subject matter.
It’s no wonder Trump had his school records and transcripts sealed by a court order. He was a no-show student at the University of Pennsylvania. He never graduated. He lacks an adequate education and it shows. Trump is illiterate and is economically, socially (e.g. he was the only one wearing a blue suit at the Pope’s funeral) and politically ignorant.
Some of the notable grievances in the Declaration of Independence against England are issues in Trump’s current administration: “naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither,” “influencing judges…” and “of the benefit of trial by jury.” Ironic and hypocritical of Trump. Perhaps he should read and comprehend the Declaration of Independence.
Speaking of “trial by jury”: Why are some tattoos acceptable and others aren’t? Trump is arresting, jailing and deporting thousands of innocent Hispanic people because of their visible tattoos. Meanwhile, cosplay didn’t-earn-it, frat-boy, braggart Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has questionable tattoos that are associated with and signal Nazism, white nationalism and white supremacy. Why the hypocrisy? Double standard? What is Trump’s message here?
We need to shine a light on Hegseth. Why does he need a make-up room in the Pentagon? Why is his wife, brother and personal attorney on the Pentagon payroll?
I’ll tell you why. Hegseth is unqualified, is in over his head and is insecure. He was an officer in the National Guard (part-time) who never saw combat. How does anyone suddenly qualify for one of the biggest billion dollar organizations in the world? He is faking his way through the DOD by play-acting.
Watch how he salutes service members. His head is facing down and he is not making eye contact when rendering his salute. Trivial? Any actor can spout feel-good sound bites like “lethality” and “War Ethos.” Hegseth doesn’t have to lecture the Marine Infantry about combat. Hegseth’s behavior suggests he lacks confidence and is a fraud. Beware!!
