We, the following congregations and ministry partners in the Enumclaw, Buckley, and Black Diamond Communities, publicly unite to decry the racial slurs that were directed to Dr. Shaun Carey, Enumclaw School District Superintendent, during the Nov. 22 Enumclaw School Board Meeting. Racial prejudice has no place in our communities.

Furthermore, we unite our voices in acknowledging the rights of all citizens to have differing opinions from one another. However, it is our prayer that all of us understand that we can disagree and not be disagreeable in private and public forums. May we unite in loving Christian kindness and civility, even if we don’t agree with another’s opinion.
