Molen Orthodontics hosted its annual Candy Buyback last Wednesday, the day after Halloween, collecting candy that kids trick-or-treated for in exchange for cash.

This year, close to 500 kids turned in more than 2,350 pounds of candy; at $2 per pound (10 pounds max), Molen paid out more than $5,300.

Additionally, more than 630 cans of food were donated.

“Having lived in this community our entire lives, we love the opportunity to give back,” said Dr. Aaron Molen. “It’s such a special gift to be able to work and live in the same community you grew up in.”

All the candy and food donations will be given to local charitable organizations.
