The following is a press release from Crystal Mountain:
This summer, Crystal Mountain is introducing a hassle-free shuttle service from the resort to the Sunrise entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park; allowing guests to skip the new timed reservations the park is enforcing this season. Crystal Mountain is most widely known as Washington’s largest ski and snowboard resort, offering some of the best snow and dynamic terrain in the state. While it’s a great spot to visit during the winter months, summer offers just as much beauty and adventure. With scenic gondola rides, mountaintop dining, hiking, and proximity to Mount Rainier, Crystal makes for a great day trip or a family weekend getaway.
Crystal Mountain is currently open in June Fridays through Sundays offering scenic gondola rides, the new Crystal Climbing Wall, Flying Raven Adventure Course, and dining at the Summit House. The resort will open for daily summer operations starting June 28th in anticipation of a season full of visitors seeking the state’s only scenic gondola. Each summer, guests come from around the world to witness the grandeur of Mount Rainier and surrounding volcanoes, and this summer is expected to be another record year.
From July 4th to September 22nd, adventurers can embark on their journey via shuttle service from Crystal Mountain to the Sunrise Visitor Center, conveniently located just an hour and half from the resort. Upon arrival at Sunrise, guests will receive information regarding the next scheduled pickup back to Crystal, ensuring a seamless transition for those eager to explore the wonders of the national park without having to make a reservation. Shuttle spots are available for purchase on the day of travel at Crystal Mountain. Roundtrip tickets are available for $44.50-$89 depending on the age of the guest. The price of the ticket includes the entry fee to the park. After Labor Day weekend, the shuttle service will run Friday-Sunday only.
Crystal Mountain is excited to bring on the summer fun with this new offering, and a variety of events and activities for guests to enjoy. In late July and August, visitors can enjoy blooming wildflowers, Mountain Music Series, and the annual Summit Fest; an after-dark excursion to the summit where guests can enjoy late-night activities including live music, marshmallow roasting, and star viewing. As the night progresses, guests will witness the Perseid Meteor Shower over Mount Rainier.
More information about summer activities can be found on the Crystal Mountain website.
