There is something wrong with Christianity today. We Christians seem to spend a lot of time acting like we’ve got it all together. We are busy, so we try to be more efficient, but at the cost of being unable to give our time to others. Often, we believe that because we are so busy, we can be compassionate simply by writing a check to a charity. Don’t get me wrong; giving monetarily is a big part of following Christ. But we cannot stop there.
We have built it, and the students have come.

The White River Family Support Center offers a variety of services designed to strengthen families. Some of our services include linking families with community resources, providing free parenting classes and offering free in-home parenting support. We also have a Financial Service Specialist from the Department of Social and Health Services available to answer your questions regarding state assistance and staff that can help Pierce County residents apply for energy assistance.
Recent studies have revealed that we are fast on our way to becoming a nation of sleep-deprived adults. I’m sure this is no surprise to most of us. I can say without hesitation that I am one of those sleep deprived adults. Just worrying about getting enough sleep is enough to keep you tossing and turning, but what really keeps me up at night is the fact that our children are becoming every bit as sleep deprived as we are. Busy schedules with too many activities are responsible in part, but a conversation I had with a first-grader the other day leads me to believe that there may be some other issues contributing to the problem.
