After several weeks of single lane closures, Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass is back open to two lanes in both directions. However, drivers need to plan for an hour of added travel time next week due to rock blasting closures.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will I-90 just east of the summit in both directions at 7 p.m. each night Monday through Thursday. Eastbound drivers will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound drivers will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61). Rock blasting typically lasts about an hour depending on the amount of debris that comes down. Drivers may also experience minor delays due to daytime rolling slowdowns.
If traveling near Ellensburg next week, drivers may experience delays due to ramp and shoulder closures near the Thorp Road Interchange at milepost 101. Crews are installing and replacing lighting at the interchange.
