PARK ARSON: Police responded at approximately 12:40 a.m. May 31 to McFarland Park where a portable toilet had been burned to the ground. The fire department extinguished the fire and an investigation will follow. Police then began checking city parks and schools for additional trouble and a small pile of trash that had been pulled from a can and set on fire. The second incident was on McDougall Avenue. It was extinguished by police.
JUVENILE ARRESTED: A juvenile was taken into custody the afternoon of May 31, wanted on a felony arrest warrant. The subject was then taken to juvenile hall.
VAN STOLEN: The theft of a white cube van was reported at 5:36 a.m. May 30. A gate at a Semanski Street property was taken off the hinges, as if the van were driven through the gate.
TO BE DESTROYED: Marijuana and a pipe were found May 30 at a Semanski Street address. An officer picked up both items with the intent of having them destroyed.
WELFARE CONCERN: Police were called the afternoon of May 30 by someone concerned for the welfare of a young child running on the roof of a Warner Avenue church. Police responded and determined the child belonged to a roofer; he was counseled and agreed to keep the child on the ground.
TWO CHARGES: A traffic stop at 6 a.m. May 29 resulted in the driver booked for possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license. The vehicle was impounded.
FIGHT CONCERNS: Police received a call May 29 from a Randall Place resident who expressed concern that the trail behind his home is used as a gathering place for juvenile fights. He reported breaking up several fights the past few weeks and asked for additional police patrol in the area.
NO INTERLOCK: A traffic stop at 10 p.m. May 28 on Battersby Avenue resulted in a driver arrested for violating an order for an interlock device. He also was charged with driving with a suspended license. A dog in the car was released to a friend.
INDECENT EXPOSURE: An officer was called the morning of May 26 to the gas pumps of a Roosevelt Avenue business, where a man – who had been drinking – was urinating in public. He was taken into custody for indecent exposure.
TEEN FIGHT: Officers took several reports the afternoon of May 26 of a large rope of teenagers fighting in the vicinity of Pine Cone Avenue. Police contacted all parties involved and no one was willing to press charges.
PANHANDLING: Police responded at 11 a.m. May 26 to the gas station area of a Roosevelt Avenue business and a report of panhandlers aggressively approaching vehicles. An officer advised them to stop and further advised them of their driving status; they agreed to have a friend pick them up.
PRISONER TRANSFER: The Puyallup Police Department arrested a subject May 25. An Enumclaw officer responded to the Walmart parking lot in Bonney Lake to take possession of the individual.
DISTURBANCE: Police responded to a Pine Cone Avenue address shortly after 6 a.m. May 25 after hearing of two people involved in a verbal dispute inside a parked car. The two were contacted and told to either leave the area or step inside their residence.
SENIOR ASSISTANCE: Staff at the Enumclaw Senior Center called police the morning of May 25, reporting a confused woman who could provide her name, but little else. Authorities were able to locate a relative who agreed to pick up the woman.
MEDS TAKEN?: A Roosevelt Avenue called police May 25, alleging two teenage females took 61 tablets of a prescription medication from her residence the day before. They had been fundraising and were allowed to use the respondent’s bathroom.
COMMITTED: Officers responded the evening of May 25 to a disturbance at a Lafromboise Street address. Aid was summoned to transport a female to St. Elizabeth Hospital on an involuntary commitment.
ASSAULT ARREST: Police responded at 8:20 p.m. May 25 to St. Elizabeth Hospital where a suspect was arrested on two counts of assault.
WOMEN FIGHTING: Two women were reported fighting an a city convenience store shortly after 9 p.m. May 25. One was arrested and booked for fourth-degree assault.
