Beautify Bonney Lake has set Sept. 21 for its 2013 improvement campaign.

The organization has slated the third Saturday of every September since 2004 for its annual volunteer campaign to improve the city and its surrounding areas. Last year, more than 500 volunteers spent the morning cleaning, planting and, well, generally beautifying the Downtown core, community garden, public safety building, library, Justice Center, Brookside Trails and other sites.

In past years, Beautify volunteers were responsible for many of the improvements to Ascent Park at the top of Elhi Hill.

The organization continues to seek volunteers, team leaders for larger sites and sponsors.

Executive Director Lillian McGinnis presently asks interested sponsors to contact her to become a partner.
