VIOLENT COUPLE: On Dec. 19 at about 7:39 p.m. officers were dispatched to a report of a physical domestic where the caller stated she had her hair pulled by her husband who was still at the house waiting for police. Once  officers arrived at  the location of the incident they spoke with both the caller and the other involved party later determined to be the caller’s husband. The caller showed the officer the hair that had been pulled out by her husband and he showed officers were the caller had bitten him on the leg and had also pulled his hair; they then went to the ground and were wrestling around. A witness also saw the caller slap her husband in the face. The caller was booked into jail for Assault 4th Degree: Domestic Violence and the husband was issued his citation for Assault 4th: Domestic Violence by mail.

NOT AT CHRISTMAS TIME!: On Dec. 23 at approximately 2:44 a.m. a neighbor called and reported she could hear a male and female being physical with each other. The caller told dispatch she could hear the female screaming and that it has been going on for about 30 minutes and that it sounds like the female is screaming in pain. When officers arrived they banged on the door several times and announced that they were the police and to open the door. They saw the lights were on in the front room but there was no answer. The officers then saw the lights go off but still no answer at the door. The apartment manager was contacted and responded with a key to allow officers access to the apartment as there was possibly somebody inside who was in  danger. Officers opened the door and announced themselves. A male voice said “hold on I’m coming” and came out wearing only a bed sheet. The officer found the female in the apartment and was asked to go with an officer outside she was found to have injuries that substantiated an assault. The male subject denied there were any sounds coming from the apartment and that he had no idea what the officer was talking about. The officer started to arrest the suspect when the officers heard moaning from another room. The moaning was coming from another subject who was in the apartment kind of passed out from intoxication. The other subject told officers they were not going anywhere with his brother and that it was Christmas time. The officers told the subject to stay in the apartment and they would come talk to him and let him know what was going on. The subject continued to obstruct and actually shoved an officer. The officers told him to back off or he would go to jail for obstructing, he continued to be hostile to officers and obstruct them from arresting his brother so he was booked for Obstructing. The other male subject was booked for Assault 4th: Domestic Violence.

A BURGER BEFORE BEDTIME: On Dec. 24 at approximately 12:29 a.m. an officer responded to a fast food restaurant on the 800 block of Valley Ave for a report of a driver, possibly intoxicated, falling asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle which was in the drive-thru lane. The caller reported that the vehicle hit a curb on the way into the drive through then he fell asleep at the order screen and stayed there for 5-10 minutes until somebody honked to wake him up. The officers located the vehicle in the parking lot occupied by a male driver and the vehicle was still running. The driver was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended driver’s license. He was also required to have an interlock device (usually a requirement after a prior DUI conviction or deferred prosecution) on his vehicle which he did not have. There was also a plastic bag full of marijuana in plain sight in the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was processed and booked for Possession of Marijuana,  Driving While License Suspended, Ignition Interlock Violation and DUI.
