Black Diamond police reports Feb. 26-March 4

IMPAIRED DRIVER: On Feb. 26, an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 32600 block of 3rd Avenue. The vehicle weaved back and forth from the center line to the fog line, crossing both several times. A traffic stop was initiated and the male driver was identified by his driver’s license. While speaking with the driver the officer observed numerous signs of intoxication, but the driver maintained he had not been drinking. The man agreed to perform a series of field sobriety tests, which he failed. The driver was arrested and transported to the Enumclaw jail on a charge of driving under the influence.

OUTSTANDING WARRANTS: An officer observed a subject walking through the parking lot of Black Diamond Elementary School during non-business hours March 2.  The subject provided her identification and upon a records check it revealed she had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants for her arrest in reference to domestic violence and obstructing charges. The warrants were confirmed and the female was transferred to the Auburn Police Department to be booked into jail.

SHOPLIFTING: Officers were dispatched March 4 to a business along 216th Avenue Southeast where a shoplifter was being held. The reporting party advised he had observed a male subject take candy from the shelf, conceal it in his pocket, then exit the store without paying. The subject advised he had enough money to pay for the candy and must have forgotten about it. Officers issued the suspect a trespass notification upon the business owner’s request, along with a criminal citation.
