Black Diamond police reports JAN. 10-18

MAN INTOXICATED: At approximately 8:30 p.m. Jan. 10, an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 31500 block of 3rd Avenue with its lights off during hours of darkness. A traffic stop was initiated and the officer contacted the male driver who exhibited numerous signs of intoxication. The man agreed to complete standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed. After being placed under arrest for driving under the influence, the driver was transported to the Enumclaw jail where he submitted to a breath test. He was booked into the Enumclaw jail on a DUI charge.

WOMAN INTOXICATED: On Jan. 11, an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound in the 31200 block of 3rd Avenue, within a car length of the vehicle in front of it. The vehicle also swerved in and out of its lane of travel. A traffic stop was initiated and the officer contacted the female driver who exhibited numerous signs of intoxication. She agreed to complete standardized field sobriety tests, which she failed. After being placed under arrest for driving under the influence, the woman was transported to the Buckley jail where she submitted to a breath test. She was booked into jail on a DUI charge.

FORGOT THE DRUGS: An officer was dispatched Jan. 18 to a business on 3rd Avenue. An employee reported that an unknown person left a small plastic bag on the counter which contained what appeared to her to be drugs. The officer took custody of the substance and after initial tests it showed positive for methamphetamine. The substance was seized and submitted into evidence pending further investigation.
