MARIJUANA: At approximately 11 p.m. June 16, an officer observed a vehicle parked in front of a closed business with two occupants. Upon contact, the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana. The officer asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle and the driver turned over both marijuana and a pipe. He admitted both had smoked marijuana earlier. The driver was cited with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His vehicle was impounded.

COCAINE: An officer performed a routine check on a vehicle at approximately 6 p.m. June 19 and found the registered owner had an outstanding warrant and was driving with a suspended license. The driver stated he had just purchased the vehicle from the listed registered owner. A strong odor of burnt marijuana was detected and the male passenger admitted to having a pipe in his pocket. During the search of the passenger, four needles, a metal spoon and Q-tips were found in a pocket. The officer found marijuana and rock cocaine in the other pocket. The passenger admitted to injecting cocaine. The case forwarded to the prosecutor.

TOO MUCH TO DRINK: At approximately midnight June 20, an officer witnessed a vehicle that had pulled on to Third Avenue and was being driven on the shoulder; the driver apparently believed he was a lane of travel. The officer followed the vehicle and it appeared to be pulling over and came to a complete stop with the vehicle half in the road and half on the shoulder. The vehicle then sped up to 60 mph in a 50 mph zone. The vehicle was swerving in its lane of travel crossing the center line. Upon contact with the driver, a strong odor of alcohol was detected and the officer could see an open can of beer in the drink holder. The driver admitted to having consumed alcohol and did not pass the field sobriety tests. His blood-alcohol content was .225 and .233, more than three times the legal limit. He was booked into the Buckley jail and cited for driving under the influence, improper land usage and having an open alcohol container in his vehiicle.
