Bonney Lake High School’s girls faced Decatur on the green Tuesday and came up short — five strokes short. The Panthers lost to the Gators 156-137, with a stroke count of 291-296.

Megan Charron led the Panthers with 43 strokes and 29 points, and scores ranged to 53 strokes and 19 points each by Whitney Wilcox and Lindsey Fisher. The Panthers stroke highs did not reach Decatur’s highs of 60 and 61; but the team’s low didn’t stoop as low as Celia Beyke’s 34, either, and in the end the Gators’ good outweighed its bad enough to push them over the top.

Bonney Lake resumes play tomorrow, Thursday, against Auburn Mountainview.
