Puget Sound Blood Center staff will be in Buckley for a blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, at Buckley Eagles Club, 29021 State Route 410 E.

The Blood Center staff is emphasizing the need for donations during the summer months. Blood collections are down 20 percent due to vacations and high school holiday breaks. Yet, the demand increases 20 percent during summertime due to people being more active and, therefore, having more accidents.
