Students were confined to their classrooms and traffic was prohibited on a stretch of state Route 410 Monday afternoon following a mobile bomb scare.
A 410 motorist received a cell phone call, telling him there was a bomb in his vehicle. The driver immediately pulled over and exited his car near the Enumclaw Middle School. Police asked that EMS be "locked down," and Enumclaw High School and at least one elementary school went into the same mode.
Enumclaw police and fire personnel, along with a bomb crew from the Washington State Patrol, responded. Eventually, it was determined there was no bomb. The highway was reopened for traffic and students were released from their classrooms.
