Nominations are being accepted for the 2009 Bonney Lake Chamber of Commerce awards.
In addition to the annual Citizen of the Year Award, the Chamber of Commerce will also recognize a few outstanding Chamber members in the categories of Business of the Year, Chamber Volunteer, New Business, Young Professional, Home Based Business, Excellence in Customer Service and Best After Hours Event.
Qualified nominees will be a member in good standing with the Bonney Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Anyone who would like to make a nomination for one or more of these awards can send a business, or owner/operator name, and explanation of why the award is deserved, by e-mail to lora@bonneylake.com or by mail to P.O. Box 7171, Bonney Lake, 98391.
Anyone can submit a nomination for Citizen of the Year, and anyone living, working or serving in the city of Bonney Lake Chamber area is eligible for the award. Citizen of the Year is in recognition for an individual who has made a significant impact on the community in the past year.
Nominees and a brief essay on why they deserve the honor are due to the Chamber by Jan. 29.
Business of the Year will recognize a business that has demonstrated best practices, for example, sound business planning, outstanding marketing, visibility and community involvement.
The Chamber Volunteer Award will go to a Chamber member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and involvement in Chamber events and programs during the 2009 year.
The New Business Award will recognize a business that opened in 2009, which has made an impact in the community and has made outstanding efforts in marketing and increasing the visibility of its business.
The Young Professional Award will be presented to an individual who is pursuing excellence and leadership in their career and has made a valuable contribution to their business and the community of Bonney Lake. A young professional is defined by the Chamber as being 30 years of age or younger. The Home Based Business Award recognizes an outstanding home-based business which has made the best use of marketing and networking.
The Excellence in Customer Service Award is for a business which has demonstrated outstanding customer service.
The Best Business After Hours Event Award is for the business which presented the most memorable Business After Hours event of the year.
These nominees are also due to the Chamber by Jan. 29.
Awards will be presented during the Chamber Awards Banquet at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Swiss Sportsman’s Club in Bonney Lake.
