The Bonney Lake Senior Center is looking for volunteer drivers. Volunteers will drive the center’s shuttle bus from seniors’ homes to the center for everyday activities and special events.

Drivers may also be called on to take seniors off-site, such as on twice-monthly grocery shopping excursions.

The center has a full-time driver, but a volunteer will supplement his duties.

“Our current driver, Phil, is only available 32 hours out of the week,” Senior Services Manager Sue Hilberg said. “Our need is for more than that. He only works four days, so on the fifth day a staff member will fill in. A volunteer, or multiple volunteers, would allow us to fill the gap in need and free up staff for their regular duties.”

The need for drivers is immediate and continues indefinitely. Regular hours for senior center bus service are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license.

Bonney Lake Senior Center is located at 19304 Bonney Lake Blvd., next to the city hall building.
