SUSPENDED LICENSE

• On Dec. 26 at 11:46 a.m., police observed a vehicle traveling in the area of 214th Avenue and SR 410 driven by a man who was not wearing a seat belt. When stopped the 40-year-old male stated he forgot to put on the belt. The man said he did not have his license with him and it was suspended. A routine check revealed the man had a warrant from Tacoma for domestic violence malicious mischief in the third degree. The man was cited for driving with a suspended license and for no proof of insurance. He was turned over to the custody of a Pierce County deputy for the warrant.

HIT AND RUN

• On Dec. 28 at 3:36 p.m. police were dispatched to the scene of a hit and run at a business parking lot on 214th Avenue East. The reporting party stated his vehicle was struck by another vehicle between noon and 3:30 p.m. The vehicle damage was photographed.

STOLEN FIREARM

• On Dec. 26 at 10:01 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on SR 410 because the vehicle’s registration was expired. A 25-year-old male passenger was witnessed throwing an object from the vehicle and when he stepped from the vehicle, police noticed an empty shell casing on the floor. The man told police he threw a marijuana joint out the window, but no more were in the vehicle. The 24-year-old male driver told police he had a concealed weapon on his person upon hearing his passenger be questioned about the shell casing. The man had a valid concealed weapons permit. Police located a Glock semi-automatic handgun on the driver’s person. A check on the weapon via dispatch revealed it was reported stolen in May. The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm and driving while license suspended in the third degree. He was transported to the Pierce County Jail and the gun was logged into the property room at the Bonney Lake Police department.

LARCENY

• On Dec. 28 two juvenile males stole four 18-packs of beer from a gas station on state Route 410. The cashier did not witness the theft, but was notified by a customer who followed the juveniles out of the store.

SHOPLIFTING

• At 12:05 p.m. Dec. 24, police were dispatched to a business at SR 410 regarding a shoplifter in custody. The store’s asset protection employee said he observed a 38-year-old woman place items in her cart and in reusable bags and leave the store without paying. The woman was confronted by the employee and escorted back into the store and admitted to the theft. The woman was indefinitely trespassed from the store and cited for theft.

FIGHT

• At approximately 11:51 p.m. Dec. 16, officers were called to a report of a fight in the 6200 block of Parker Road. They contacted two men who were pushing each other and both advised the officer that a third male had assaulted them both and left the scene in a vehicle. The third subject was located and detained. The two subjects who were initially contacted both had blood on them. It was later determined the fight had started over one subject using racial comments that offended another subject. Two subjects were charged with disorderly conduct and the third was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

• At approximately 4:30 a.m. Dec. 14, officers were called to the 15900 block of 56th Street Court East regarding a physical domestic situation. Officers contacted a female who informed them her grandson was intoxicated and inside the residence. Officers contacted a male and female. The female said the male had choked her and threatened to kill her. He was arrested and booked into jail.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

• At approximately 11:21 a.m. Dec. 12, a citizen called 911 to report a suspicious person possibly stealing metal from a business in the 13900 block of 24th Street. The person saw he was being watched and fled in a vehicle. Responding officers located the vehicle and contacted the suspect. In the back of the vehicle were several pieces of rebar. The suspect told officers he had permission to borrow the rebar. Officers contacted the business and learned the items had been stolen. The suspect was arrested for theft.
