How to comment on the proposed Plateau airport, and a short correction.

MEETINGS FOR AIRPORT COMMISSION: As a reminder, one more virtual public Zoom meeting is scheduled today (Aug. 31) for the Commercial Aviation Coordinating Commission (CACC), the body created by the state legislature tasked with recommending an option for the region’s airport needs. It takes place at 5:30 p.m. An online open house is also open until Sept. 9, through which you can learn more about the project and share feedback. Both can be found online at: https://wsdot.wa.gov/travel/aviation/commercial-aviation-coordinating-commission. The CACC was briefed in June about a number of potential “greenfield” sites for a new airport, including a hypothetical site in Enumclaw. The CACC has made no recommendations so far.

“FREE GROCERY” STORY CORRECTION: It was reported in the article “The Market expands services with Project Dash” that The Market, located in Bonney Lake but serves the Buckley and Enumclaw areas, went from serving 20 to 30 families a week in 2020 to 200. This is incorrect; the nonprofit expanded from 20 to 30 families daily to 200. Additionally, The Courier-Herald misspelled Taylor Larsen’s last name. We regret the error.
