VEHICLE COLLISION: At 9:43 a.m. Oct. 11, an officer responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of state Route 410 and Main Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that the driver at fault had been following the vehicle ahead too closely. That driver was issued a notice of infraction and a state accident report was completed.
NEEDS COMMERCIAL LICENSE: On Oct. 12, a patrolling officer stopped a commercial motor vehicle for an inspection. The vehicle was found to require a Class A commercial drivers license, which the driver did not have. The driver was cited, deemed out of service for the vehicle combination and released at the scene.
UNDER THE INFLUENCE: At 1:13 a.m. Oct. 13, a driver was stopped for speeding on highway 410 near the lower cemetery. The driver performed some tests, was determined to be under the influence and was arrested for DUI. The vehicle was impounded.
DUI AND POSSESSION: At 11:36 p.m. Oct. 14, a 23-year-old local woman was stopped for a traffic violation on the 28800 block of 112th Street East. She was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, the officer found drug paraphernalia and a substance suspected to be marijuana on her person. She was arrested, issued an infraction and multiple citations before being released to a sober adult.
LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 8:40 p.m. Oct. 15, a 36-year-old Puyallup man was pulled over for a traffic violation and found to have a suspended license. He had also apparently failed to transfer a vehicle title within the required period. He was arrested, issued an infraction and criminal citation before being released on location.
AGENCY ASSIST: At 9:06 p.m. Oct. 16, a patrolling officer happened across a vehicle associated with an Attempt To Locate notice put out by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office. Forest Service 57 attempted to stop the vehicle, which failed to yield, and stopped in a driveway on Third Street at Mason Avenue. The man exited the vehicle and did not respond to commands. The Buckley officer took him into custody until deputies arrived to detain him, which they did without incident.
