Buckley resident pleads guilty to sexual assault of a child

Buckley resident Lawrence Lee Rawdon recently plead guilty sexually assaulting a child.

Rawdon, 60, was arrested Jan. 24, 2024, after the mother of the victim set up a hidden camera in her home the previous fall after becoming suspicious. She turned footage over to the Buckley Police Department, which included Rawdon touching the victim inappropriately, court documents read.

The mother then got a restraining order again Rawdon, who moved out but kept in contact with the victim into December 2023. It was around this time that the victim told police about the abuse.

Rawdon initially plead not guilty to one count of first degree child molestation, four counts of second degree child molestations, two counts of second degree child rape, one count of giving a minor a controlled substance, and for violating a court order at his arraignment a day later.

However, he pled guilty to one count of second degree rape of a child on June 26.

Rawdon remains in custody until sentencing, which is scheduled for September 12.
