The annual Buckley Flashback Auto Show will return to the Log Show grounds Friday and Saturday.

This year's event will feature all the activities, food, classic cars and entertainment that spectators expect from the car show with the addition of a special guest - J.P. Patches.

According to organizer Perry Patson, who has been organizing the event for the past 18 years, J.P. Patches will appear at the show from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.

&#8220I've been working since November to get him,” Patson said.

The car show will kick off at 6 p.m. Friday with a Wally's Drive-In Trivia Night, where participants will get a chance to participate in trivia contests as well as cast their votes for their favorite cars.

Fun categories for the event will include the car Ward and June Cleaver would be most likely to tool around Mayfield in, and the car Ethel and Fred Mertz would most likely drive across the country in.

The big show kicks off on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will be sponsored by Bill Goetz of Buckley Automotive.

Buckley Fire Department Capt. Al Long will act as master of ceremonies, spinning the oldies and running the contests based on nostalgic TV and music trivia, as well as popular TV game shows of yesterday such as &#8220Name that Tune,” &#8220The Price Is Right” and &#8220Let's Make a Deal.”

Buckley Fire Department Chief Alan Predmore will again be manning the food shack, cooking up burgers and hot dogs for eventgoers.

A few new events include the Plateau Auto Dealer Challenge, featuring the new car lineups from three area auto dealers, each vying for the title of King of the Hill. The event will pit Topping's Mopar lineup, Gamblin's General Motors stable and Fugate's Ford cars against each other.

The Flashback will also feature the Grocery Outlet Guess the Groceries contest with proceeds going to the Northwest Burn Center, the same charity the Buckley Fire Department donates the proceeds from their Pass the Boot campaign.

&#8220This will give department a little more time to spend with the people, rather than just pass the boot, where they take a dollar and then drive off,” Patson said.

And as usual the Flashback will feature some of the finest rolling iron in the Pacific Northwest, with the majority of the classic cars coming from Sumner, Enumclaw, Bonney Lake, Buckley and other Plateau towns.

&#8220It's a good thing for all the people up here to come here and show their cars and have fun,” Patson said. &#8220The bottom line is having fun.”
