Candidates filed for office in Pierce County and several individuals have tossed their hat into the Aug. 18 primary for the Bonney Lake City Council.
Dan Swatman, who is currently serving as deputy mayor, is running for the Council Ward 1 seat vacated by Councilman Dave King, who decided not to seek re-election.
Swatman currently is holding an at-large seat.
Andy Gomen has filed to run against Swatman.
Randy McKibbin and Lynda Dabson have filed to fill Swatman’s council-at-large Position 1 seat.
Councilman David Bowen is running for his Ward 4 post and will be challenged by Donn M. Lewis.
No one has filed to run against Mayor Neil Johnson, who is seeking a second term in office.
In Pierce County Fire District 22, Raymond Bunk of Bonney Lake filed for Commissioner 1, Karlyne McGinnis of Lake Tapps filed for Commissioner 2 and Mike Cathey of Sumner filed for the Commissioner 3 seat.
Dick Willner of Bonney Lake and Ron Scholz of Sumner filed for the Commissioner 5 post.
