Council expected to pass budget, put parks district on ballot at tonight’s meeting

The special meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. with the regular council meeting to follow at 7 p.m. Both meetings will take place in the council chambers of the Justice Center, 9002 Main St.

The Bonney Lake city council is expected to pass its budget during tonight’s regular council meeting.

This is also expected to be the final meeting of the year as the council will also vote on an ordinance to cancel the remaining meetings for 2012.

Along with the budget, the council will vote on an ordinance to identify the Falling Water and Tehaleh planned subdivisions as proposed urban growth areas on the city’s future land use map.

Also tonight, the council will vote on a package of ordinances designed to begin the process of putting pipes in the ground in Eastown and an ordinance placing a metropolitan parks district on the April ballot.

Prior to tonight’s regular meeting, the council will hold a special meeting for final discussions on the city’s 2013-2014 biennial budget.
